As the first thing that your guests see when they enter your home, reclaimed wood and custom millwork are the best ways to achieve your individual style. We’ve completed many remodels with a strong emphasis on the interior woodwork of each project, and in each job we’ve seen that those final details have the most impact – the wow factor – in our client’s homes. But, the price of high end quality materials was serving as a deterrent to our clients. Our decision to open an in-house woodworking facility allows us to provide high-end materials and service directly to our clients, saving you time and money on luxury projects.
Today we employ a full staff of home improvement experts including designers, draftsmen, craftsmen, finishers and installers to ensure that all our client homes get that wow-factor.
Millwork and reclaimed are much used terms in the remodeling industry, but does the average home owner understand what they are and, more importantly, what they will be in the future?
In brief, millwork is the term applied to the wood materials used when building or remodeling your home. This term applies to everything from the lumber used to frame the rooms to the wood trim that finishes your baseboard and windows. Architectural millwork refers to the custom wood pieces that add style to your interior design. These can include custom cabinetry, entertainment centers, built in storage units and much more.
According to Wikipedia, “reclaimed wood is processed wood retrieved from its original application for purposes of subsequent use. Most reclaimed lumber comes from timbers and decking rescued from old barns, factories and warehouses, although some companies use wood from less traditional structures such as boxcars, coal mines and wine barrels. Reclaimed or antique lumber is used primarily for decoration and home building, for example for siding, architectural details, cabinetry, furniture and flooring.”
Our in-house finishing facility is the secret behind the custom woodworking we offer our clients. Boasting 3,200 square feet and state-of-the-art precision finishing equipment, we handcraft custom cabinetry, closets, storage solutions, media centers, molding and other finishing elements.
Our founders, brothers Brandon and Marcus Palm, started in the construction industry by installing fine cabinetry and finish carpentry. They earned a reputation for quality craftsmanship, and soon began supplying custom woodworking to fine home builders throughout Florida. In 2002, the brothers decided to expand into full home remodeling and damage restoration.
Woodworking has been in the family for over a decade, and Palm Brothers takes great pride in keeping up with the industry trends so that we consistently deliver great results to our clients.
To maintain our aesthetic goals and stay green, we use E&S Reclaimed wood tiles and Norstone Natural Stone as well as in-house finished millwork to complete remodels in environmentally and budget friendly styles.
Our Kitchen & Bath showroom is one of only three Naples-based showrooms that offer the E&S and Norstone products in the area. E&S is the only company that boasts to be a producer of truly reclaimed barnwood tiles.
